I am Tinky “Dakota” Weisblat: a writer, a singer, and a historian. I live in Hawley, Massachusetts, a tiny hilltown in the western part of the state.
I have a bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College (my mother's and grandmother's alma mater!), a doctorate in American Studies from the University of Texas, and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Tennessee.
I have worked in a variety of settings—teaching college, editing the catalog at the Museum of Television & Radio, introducing movies at a French film festival—but my first love is writing. My favorite topics are cooking and popular culture; I like to explore the connections that link food, story, and song.
